BVD ACCREDITED STATUS FOR FLOTTA
Flotta, which is situated south of the Orkney mainland, has become the first island to achieve full BVD accreditation.
Alan Rosie of Heathercow-Root, Isobel Smith of Catmuir Hall, Daniel Barnett of Hunger-Him-Out and Martin Robertson of Brunthouse are a great example of what can be achieved by farmers working together,
Their success was marked by a visit to the island by OLA Chairman, Alistair Foubister and OLA Secretary, Karen Tait. Alistair pointed out that although there are only four cattle farms in Flotta, their success should not be underestimated and congratulated them on their achievement. He expects a few more of the outer islands will reach BVD accredited status in the near future.
